Synapse Blow-Off Valve

The Synapse Synchronic BOV has set the standard for impossibly fast response from a BOV/DV.
Completely modular, it can be installed as a vent-to-atmosphere BOV or
re-circulating diverter valve. This universal package can be outfitted to
most any application utilizing our interchangeable mounting flange system.

By design, it is a pull-type valve only. This means that boost pressure keeps
it closed, meaning no boost leaks upwards of 100+ psi of boost. It operates
in a normally open condition. This means that it is designed to remain open
under vacuum conditions. For maximum performance and reliability, it is
recommended to install the Synchronic BOV in a re-circulated configuration
with the discharge between the MAF sensor and turbocharger inlet.

Synchronic BOV anti-stall kit in billet machined Aluminum 6061-T6 anodized
black. This adapter allows all SB001 to be fitted with a normally-closed valve
in order to vent the BOV to atmosphere. The anti-stall kit is mostly used with
MAF equipped vehicles, but may be used with MAP sensor (speed density)
cars without problems. Anti-stall kits will make the discharge sound of the
SB001 considerably louder. Be aware of your local laws and regulations
as it pertains to noise before purchasing this unit. Anti-stall only prevents
the engine from taking in unmetered air through the BOV when the intake
manifold is under vacuum. There will be conditions where the turbo may be
producing boost at very low throttle positions and air will be discharged.
It is best for performance to re-circulate the discharge of SB001.

Aluminum 6061-T6. The material is uncoated for immediate welding.
This adapter allows all SB001 and DV001 to be fitted onto applications
where a mounting flange welded onto an Aluminum pipe is desired.
Various applications require different clearances and the flange diameter
alone does not indicate application fitment.

What makes Synchronic Wastegates different?  In the legacy wategate design a flexible diaphragm/membrane is used to control the wastegate valve.  This diaphragm is also pushed down by a spring.  The main problem from this design is that the diaphragm is usually made from a rubber/polymer.  As temperature increases the diaphragm becomes more flexible and the durometer changes.  This means that it takes more psi to make that diaphragm move the valve.  So, as pressure increases in the actuator, the diaphragm has to stretch before controlling the valve.  What we have seen is that the legacy wastegate opens late and then once it opens, it opens too much.  This results in peaky horsepower that drops once the wastegate is open too wide and venting too much exhaust gas instead of driving the turbine.  You cannot even vary the spring rate with a diaphragm wastegate since you are married to the durometer of the diaphragm.  The synchronic design utilizes a piston that reacts far more quickly to changes in boost pressure.  It allows the tuner to fine-tune wastegate respnse by allowing you to use different spring rates for the same boost level and even adjust for spring preload, or target boost pressure.  Spring rates cannot be varied on the legacy diaphragmatic wastegate, because you will only force the diaphragm to stretch more as the spring rate increases.  Lastly, since there is nothing holding the Synchronic piston down, it can actually rotate in place and in service over time.  What this means is that the entire valve and valve stem will be exposed to the "hot" and "cold" side of the wategate so that over time you will not build up a hot spot on the valve or valve stem.

Tial MV-S 38mm V-band Wastegate

Tial V38 MV-S (Blue) Wastegate New for 2009, the TiAL V38 external wastegate. It has the same flow capability as the standard Tial 38mm (F38) wastegate but has a V-band inlet & outlet. With it's new compact design, fitment into tight spaces is no longer an issue.
