Why does your Golf-R 2.0T need a catch can? There are two reasons:

  • The OEM PCV system on the 2.0T FSI engines is a known failuire point. Even on completely stock cars, the PCV valve is known to fail without warning, leaving you and your car stranded.
  • The 2.0T FSI engines are direct injection. This means your engine no longer has fuel spraying through the intake manifold, which would in turn travel over the intake valves. The lack of fuel flowing past the valves means you get a lot of combustion gas build-up on the back side of the valves. This hurts performance as well as fuel mileage.

The RAI Golf-R Catch Can system solves both these problems. It uses a solid billet breather plate that bolts directly to the valve cover. This eliminates the failure prone selection valve. A perfect copy of the factory block PCV fitting is machined directly into plate. This allows you to re-use the original hose from the block.

The catch can it self is 6061 TIG welded aluminum. It feautres internal baffles which help prevent oil from making its way back into the intake. It also utilizes a drain plug on the bottom for seamless servicing. An aluminum mounting plate is also included with all necessary hardware.

Last but not least, why clutter your engine bay with cheap rubber hose and clamps? Our catch can kit features stainless steel braided lines and high quality compression fittings for a sleek under the hood look. They are the most effective way of ensuring a completely sealed system.
